What to expect — your first session, start to finish.

“So… what actually happens?” Fair question — and the answer is friendlier than you think.

Booking a session can feel like a big unknown, especially your first time in front of a professional camera. Here's the whole thing, start to finish — no surprises.

Note one · booking

Book the date

Everything starts with a message — Instagram or Facebook, whichever you already use. Tell me what the images are for (an audition, a graduation, your business, just because) and we'll find a date that fits.

  • Tell me the why — headshots, portraits, a family gathering — and I'll tell you how much time to plan for.
  • My studio is a private home studio in Mulberry, FL — once you book, I send the exact address and simple directions.
  • Weekday evenings and weekends both work; outdoor sessions get planned around the light.

Note two · prep

Prep without stress

A little preparation goes a long way — and none of it is complicated. The goal is you, on a good day. Not a stranger in borrowed clothes.

  • Clothing — outfits that feel like you and fit well. Solid colors photograph best; the full color playbook is in house note № 2.
  • Hair & makeup — keep it close to your everyday look. Natural photographs beautifully.
  • Glasses — wear them if you wear them; just clean the lenses right before we start.
  • Skin — don't stress a breakout. Temporary blemishes disappear in editing, so skip harsh new skincare the week before.

Note three · the bag

Pack the bag

One tote by the door the night before, and the morning takes care of itself:

  • Your outfits, on hangers if you can — there's a spot at the studio to hang them.
  • A hairbrush or comb, lip balm, and touch-up powder if you use it.
  • Water — under those lights you'll want it.
  • A parent or guardian comes along for anyone under 18.
  • Running late? Just message me. Communication keeps everything relaxed — silence is the only thing that shortens a session.

Note four · on set

The session itself

Here's the part people worry about most, and the part that needs the least worrying. You don't need experience, angles, or a plan — directing you is my job.

  • I guide every pose and every expression, step by step. You never stand there wondering what to do.
  • We move through a range — confident, natural, expressive — so your gallery has depth, not one look repeated forty times.
  • Breaks, water, a breath, a do-over: all normal. The best frames usually come after everyone stops trying so hard.

Note five · keepers

Choose your keepers

Before you leave, we look through the session together and you pick the frames you love. No waiting weeks to find out how it went — you walk out already knowing.

  • We review on the spot, side by side.
  • You choose your favorites for editing — your taste decides, not an algorithm.
  • Torn between two? Tell me what the photo is for and I'll give you my honest read.

Note six · delivery

Delivery day

Your edited images arrive as a private gallery link — I'll tell you when to expect it based on the current schedule.

  • Print anywhere — the gallery includes full high-resolution files that belong to you.
  • Post the social versions — the watermarked, social-optimized copies are sized to look their best on every platform. Please use those online.
  • Questions after delivery? Message me anytime — the session doesn't really end at the gallery link.

Now you know the whole show — book your seat.

Message me with what you have in mind and we'll find your date. First-timers welcome — especially first-timers.
